MINISTRY AT THIRD
Third Reformed Church has discerned God’s call to worship with a classic Reformed liturgy. Often lectionary-based, our worship combines the great hymns of the faith with newer songs of the global Christian Church. We seek worship that first exalts God and then also reminds us of our identity, confesses our sin, celebrates creation, and heartens other believers.
We seek to make worship inviting and accessible to all ages, abilities, and backgrounds, incorporating the arts to transcend spoken language. We gather around the communion table monthly, participate in creative liturgies, and give dramatic readings often led by students and children. During the high and holy seasons of the Christian year, we intentionally develop themes for worship and spiritual disciplines that can be practiced and lived-in daily life.

MUSIC
Music has always been an important part of worship at Third Reformed Church. At Third Church, we acknowledge that music is a God-given gift that uplifts and edifies the worshipper. With our music, we intend not to perform but rather to offer a gift to God out of gratitude for his gift to us. When the gift is returned to God, he is honored and glorified as the Lord of our lives.
God has endowed many members of our congregation with musical ability. We invite new members to share their gifts by joining our music ministry, which includes choral and handbell ensembles for all ages, from young children to adults.
The Robert L. Sipe organ, installed in 1982 and refurbished in 2010, is a 40-rank, three-manual mechanical action instrument. In addition to this marvelous instrument, we regularly feature piano, timpani, and solo instrumentalists in worship services.

DISCIPLESHIP
We seek to nurture the discipleship of individuals of all ages and stages of faith development by offering many opportunities for spiritual formation. We are intentional about training and inspiring youth so that as they grow in Christ, they “dream dreams,” engage in service, and assume leadership responsibilities with the rest of the congregation.
